In order to prevent credit card fraud you must provide your current verifiable billing address to complete your transaction.
THE SAFEST WAY TO PLACE AN ORDER IS TO DO SO YOURSELF DIRECTLY ON THE WEBSITE. Giving your personal credit card information to another person over the telephone is never as secure as handling the transaction yourself through a properly secured website. When you are at the “check out” phase on this or any website you should see something like this in the web browser address bar:
Notice that there is a lock icon as well as the letters “https” at the beginning. That stands for “Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure”, computer speak for “this is a secure connection”.
Credit Card Processing
Internet retailers like Hardware Decor do not control the transaction process that happens when you place an order on a website. That transaction is managed by a third party processor, in the case of that processor is Authorize.Net. Authorize.Net is a well known and respected service provider and is the Internets largest payment gateway service.
Credit card processing consists of two phases.
Phase 1: Authorization
Once you submit your order, Authorize.Net routes the payment details to the credit card networks on behalf of Hardware-decor.com, then returns the results—approved or declined. Your credit card may be declined for a number of reasons including the incorrect entry of any of your verification information, or lack of funds. If your card is declined there isn’t much we can do to help you. For your protection only you can access the information related to your credit card. Call the number on the back of your credit card to resolve problems directly with the card issuer.
Phase 2: Settlement/Funding
Your credit card issuing bank sends the appropriate funds for the transaction’s completion. The bank then deposits the funds into the merchant’s bank account, typically within two to four business days.
Purchases made on Hardware Decor will show up on your statement as a purchase from Hardware Decor.
